Vampire Facial

I’m just gonna get this out right now – I’m vain.

I care as much about my exterior appearance as I do my internal wellness. I’ve spent a lot of money over the years to keep my skin looking healthy and vibrant – facials, botox, IPL’s, Ultherapy, quality skin care products…

Skin requires maintenance – inside and out. Dr. Ken Berry says that your skin is a reflection of the foods you’ve eaten for past none weeks. You are in fact, what you eat, Your skin is your largest organ and is a reflection of what’s happening to you internally.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t help it a bit 😉

A week before our Christmas vacation, which included about 16 days in the Florida sunshine, I went to see the amazing Sarah Cook at the Rochester Laser Center.

Many of you have probably heard of Vampire Facials, or PRP Facials or Micro-needling. Micro-needling creates tiny holes in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin – so basically I let someone poke holes in my face to create a smoother surface! May seem counter-intuitive but it really works! Rochester Laser Center does something special that I haven’t found anywhere else – the medically-supervised team of expert providers offers microneedling in conjunction with platelet-rich plasma therapy for dramatic results. And the results ARE dramatic.

I think this shot shows the most dramatic results!

Amazing right?!

We video the entire process which you can review here – took about 1 hour.

Now, here’s what REALLY IMPORTANT – I spent a LOT of time in the sun on my vacation – I did not go out without sunscreen, a sun hat and something to cover myself (I also have a “Buff” that is SPF 40 rated that I can put around my neck). Seriously, I’m a redhead – I don’t actually tan – I burn and then freckle, so what’s the sense of going through this (or any skin maintenance) if I’m just going to turn around and damage it?

I’ll keep you updated on my progress and some other exciting things I have coming up. In the meantime, book an appointment with Sarah Cook at the Rochester Laser Center 248.759.5693

PS – Sunhats are cool!
